Light has come
- von Christina -
Light has come, into a dark universe born
to heal the sick and straighten the torn
to free the enslaved, to break their chains
to cleanse our souls from bloody stains
to sustain who's stumbling and steady their pace
to teach who is God and to offer us Grace.
To tell right from wrong, discard false excuses
to shatter proud shells and expose their abuses
He came to uncover all hidden offences
and call who pleads guilty to where Life commences
under His Cross.
Mine was that universe pitch-black as coal
Mine were sickness, mine the chains
mine the clothes with bloody stains
mine the pride, that stumbling soul.
My gaze averted from what was mine
toward His Light's prevailing shine.
No questions answered but only this
instead of mine i am to be His.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
I desire to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart.
